Abstract
This article radiography the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by Spanish and Latin American reference verification platforms (members of #CoronavirusFacts Alliance of IFCN). The methodological approach is based on the exploration and cataloging through multicriteria content analysis of AI initiatives and tools developed; and is complemented with the vision of its professionals and experts in technology and journalistic innovation through online interviews. The results show an uneven and incipient use of AI by the fact-checkers analyzed. The development of proprietary solutions is conditioned by the availability of resources and specialized professional profiles and almost always takes the form of bots for certain functions. All in all, they agree that they sense AI very positively for their work, and co-creation offers opportunities for the development of RDI projects with large technology companies or within the framework of the IFCN network itself.
