Abstract
The Ibero-American Observatory of Television Fiction (Obitel), created in 2005, has systematically carried out an annual study of the Ibero-American television industry since 2007, which has become a source of information and analysis for producers, creators, and researchers. The latest version, published in 2019, entitled “Internet Television Distribution Models: actors, technology, strategies”, deals precisely with the fiction television industry in Latin America. This review analyzes this book, the result of a comparative research between 10 countries, in which the changes and transformations of television in the transition to VoD platforms can be identified.
