Journalism and new narratives. Storytelling as broadcasting format on social media
Abstract
In recent years, journalism has lived a profound transformation due to the emergence and consolidation of digital technologies. Social media have enabled the reinvention and adaptation of journalism to new narrative formats, such as storytelling, which respond to the interests and current formulas of consumption of information by the public. The objective of this research is to offer a classification of new formats based on storytelling, linked to social networks and through which the media are producing and disseminating their informative content. A methodology based on an exploratory approach and the technique of content analysis is proposed. The results shown that these formats are closely linked to the current and informative immediacy, in which users can actively participate in the construction of reality.
