When a fictional TV show works as a liveevent. The Spanish following of the final Game of Thrones's episode

Abstract

This study addresses the receipt of the last episode of Game of Thrones by viewers in Spain and their interactions on Twitter on May 20th. For this purpose, we will analyse the main Trending Topic linked to the TV show. In this sense, this research was conducted through a questionnaire and three interviews that allowed examining the time and the way of the episode's consumption. Therefore, using a methodological triangulation in order to observe if it is an example of a live event, we establish three main goals: 1) studying the time in which the leading hashtags related to the TV show were the trend. 2) knowing the time, conditions and way of viewing through a questionnaire. 3) examining the consumption habits concerning the TV show and this episode, specifically.
