The European Migrant Crisis in El País and Izvestia: Ethical and Deontological Study

Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze from ethical and deontological perspective the Media Coverage of European Migrant Crisis in online versions of two newspapers, El País (Spain) and Izvestia (Russia). The research includes news articles, is based on the review of the most important codes of ethics in journalism on national and international levels. It matches both, quantitative and qualitative approaches to Press Content Analysis. The study shows numerous cases of infringement of ethical rules in two diaries and reveals important differences and similarities on the qualitative level.

Graduada en Periodismo (Moscow State University, 2010), Máster (2014) y Doctora (2017, cum laude) por la Universidad de Valencia. En marzo-mayo 2019 – Ayudante de Investigación, Grupo “Migraciones, Interculturalidad y Desarrollo Humano”, Universidad San Jorge (Zaragoza). Autora de varios artículos publicados en revistas indexadas en 2015-2019.
