Political speech of the media and hegemony in the electoral campaign Ecuador 2017
Abstract
The political discourse of the media reached its clearest expression in the treatment of the different themes of the political life of any country, and particularly in moments in which are held elections to its main bodies of Government. Ecuador 2017 campaign was the chosen stage to carry out a study of the behaviour of media, as part of a research project carried out by the Faculty of communication of the University of Guayaquil, during which different discursive strategies of news framing became apparent. The results show one example of how the press has become a political actor in the struggle for hegemony over the popular consciousness.
