The informative treatment of Juana Rivas case. Media violence
Abstract
Juana Rivas case has been a new point of reference in media coverage of gender violence. During the summer of 2017, the media focused on the story of this woman and her children. The circumstances and peculiarities of the case led to multiple news items and conflicting opinion articles. This analysis aims to analyze part of this information through its impact on the social network Twitter, as a channel for dissemination and learning of cyberfeminism. The conclusions reveal that in various circumstances the media failed to comply with precise legislative norms and informative recommendations on gender violence in Spain.
