Media competition of journalists from Ecuador and Colombia. Dimension Language and Technology
Abstract
Education in media skills is a latent necessity. Society in general and journalists in particular have not developed them to deal with the diversity of information. The research needs to know the level of media competence that the journalists of Ecuador and Colombia have in the dimensions of Language and Technology. The results obtained indicate that journalists have a high level of competence in the language dimension and low technology competition, that is, they know about the existence of applications, tools, etc., but they do not use them in their work to transmit information. The influence of the media has not gone hand in hand with the promotion of media literacy. The main methodological tool was the sociological survey, created from a definition of dimensions and indicators of media competition. The sample consisted of 71 journalists from Ecuador and 75 from Colombia.Downloads
