Framing Theory: Conceptual overview and state of art in the Hispanic context
Abstract
The framing theory, besides constituting a theoretical corpus of undeniable relevance in the scientific literature on communication, also supposes a methodological basis from which numerous investigations start to approach its different objects of study. Therefore, and in view of the importance of this paradigm whose conceptual foundations are reviewed, the main objective of the present study is to characterize, in a descriptive and bibliometric way, the state of research on framing in the Hispanic-American context of the last decade (2007-2016). To this purpose, the 10 journals with the greatest impact were selected in 2016, present at the international base Scopus in the communication category. Based on the collected data, it is verified that the study of framing in the current context of Hispanic publication is going through a constant increase phase, with a low number of very proactive authors in the area.Downloads
