Criticism of journalistic coverage In Spanish academic journals

Abstract

Studies in which criticism of the media tends to focus their attention on analysis of media criticism in general or on particular analysis of published or disseminated products. In the case of the particular analyzes of journalism, there is currently a large number of studies on journalistic coverage. As part of the research project "Theoretical and technical contributions to a cultural critique of the news", jointly developed by researchers in Brazil and Spain, this article presents some results of this research that aims to observe the degree and procedures of journalistic coverage that the authors operate in scientific articles of five academic journals of the area of Communication in Spain (Revista Latina de Comunicación Social, Estudios sobre el Mensaje Periodístico, Zer Revista de Estudios de Comunicación, Anàlisi Quaderns de Comunicació i Cultura y Ámbitos).
