Reality and transformations in the Catalan language media (2010-2016)
Abstract
This article presents the structure of the Catalan language media system, analyzed from 2010 census and actualized up to 2016. This media system is presented from three different variables: support, reach and property. Data presented diagnose the present situation of Catalan media. At the same time, the evolution perspective permits to observe the transformation process, in front of both financial and a digitalization crisis. Tools applied have been interviews and searching in documental archives, including corporate information and social networks. A remarkable conclusion is that as traditional media diminished, the number of cibermedia increased after the economic crisis.Downloads
