Criteria for the analysis of quality television and sensationalism in entertainment programmes
Abstract
This article analyzes the definition and variables own television quality in entertainment programs and tries to establish the concepts to identify the tabloit television. Research on quality television highlight, both in Europe and in the United States, the difficulty in developing common criteria for the analysis or even appropriate to define quality. This is an area where most of the studies are directed to audience research or focus on addressing the quality of the television system as a whole paying little attention to the analysis of the criteria that define it. The results of this research reflect that quality values are replaced by copy formats, violation of democratic rights, low diversity, controversial content, distortion of reality and the rise of irrelevant news.Downloads
