Analysis of the treatment of the economic information in the deontological and ethic media codes in Spanish setting
Abstract
Global financial crisis and corruption have awakened public opinion interest and have gained ground in media agenda. Whereas financial problems have increased interest in economic issues and financial processes, corruption and misuse of public finances have made people become conscious of ethics role in financial issues. A review of the historical and conceptual context, together with a comparison of thirteen journalistic ethic codes, will show how, despite the great presence of potential conflicts of interest in this branch of information, the treatment receives no special attention in the codes.Downloads
