News Programmes in TVE2: Projects and Realities
Abstract
TVE’s Second Channel was key to tackle two of the most pressing demands of sixties’ television audience about news policies: a freer and less censored journalism, and more local information. This study describes and analyzes the changes that La 2 news policies suffered through the reconstruction of the whole programming of those years, as well as secondary sources, as press, memoirs and official documents of TVE. The result will depict the shy and shortlived effort to provide regional information, cut short as soon as 1968, and the difficulties to put on the air an independent news programme for the Second Channel, which had to be delayed until mid seventies.Downloads
