Abstract

The United Nations has been providing reliable data that shows that the planet lies on an environmental crisis never seen before in the history of mankind. However, the inaccuracy and diversity of the published data on climate change make policy makers and the general public anxious and indifferent. This paper intends to contribute with the improvement of the environmental communications and ease correct diffusion in the media of the issues related to the topic and its understanding by decision makers. In order to do so, this study investigates the particularities of the book/documentary An inconvenient truth by Al Gore and also of the book The Skeptical Environmentalist, by Bjorn Lomborg, together with his book/documentary Cool it. The paper analyses the arguments and the use of relevant communications tools.
