Abstract

This article tries to show, with the greatest rigor, not without clarity, the complex process thanks to which Aristotle, known as “The Philosopher” by a large number of medieval thinkers, became, at the end of this period, an author of reference, for Muslims, jews and Christians, around which an intense debate will arise. In order to achieve its objective, this article studies de presence of Aristotle both in the Est and in the West, both among Muslims and Christians, paying special attention to the work of the translators of his work into Syriac, Arabic or to Latin.
