Abstract

This article presents an analysis of the role played by the girl – princess in the present children’s literature regarding works published over the last decade. For this purpose, we have used the keys proposed in Vladimir Propp’s work: Morfology of the fairy tales to establish a quantitative and descriptive study of the achievement of the functions and the traceable change visible in the characters responsible for the actions. At least, we offer a brief discussion over the need to include new lectures in the Didactics of the Language and Literature area at elementary and primary school levels as a tool to promote the gender equality.
