Applications of digital laser-cut to making graphic work matrices
Abstract
This article presents the results of an experimental and artistic research developed in relation to the applications that new digital laser-cut technologies can offer for the creation of matrices to graphic work editions. To do this, some references have been considered of pioneering uses of digital technologies in prints, and especially the artistic precedents with regard specifically to laser-cut. Below is the experimentation carried out and some of the parameters that, through it, have been possible to determine as viable for the formal execution of engraving matrices for printing by traditional relief or intaglio processes. The presented results not only offer a series of technological resources, but also expand the conceptual and linguistic possibilities of contemporary graphics and offer new frontiers for future theoretical, experimental or artistic researches.
