Art and heritage education in the museums of Matanzas, Cuba. Evaluation of key competences
Abstract
The integration of key competences in art education is not only a duty of formal education, non-formal contexts must act in the same direction. The present investigation exposes an analysis of the educational action of the museums of Matanzas (Cuba) whose objective is the evaluation of the key competences present in its didactic design and implementation. The non-probability sample is made up of N = 5 museum institutions: el Museo de Arte, Palacio de Junco, El Morrillo, Castillo de San Severino. Museo de la Ruta del esclavo, y el Museo Farmacéutico; 5 managers and 18 specialists. This evaluation is developed through a multi-case study for which a mixed method is used, consisting of an instrument with 6 indicators and 18 descriptors, which allows us to assess the degree of adequacy of educational designs to a competency-based mediation, and to know It details the working method, strategies and educational discourses in the teaching of heritage, through observation, structured interview and discussion group. The main results identify the most present competences and those capable of improvement, contributing to improving the educational work carried out by museums; and they represent a pioneering state of affairs in the Cuban context.
