The fandom Phenomenon in Skam Spain. Perspective of Producers and Directors of Spanish Serialized Fiction
Abstract
The series, aimed at young people, have conquered their space in Spanish fiction. In a context of transformation of audiences and narratives, we focus this research on Skam España, one of the teen series with greater projection in our country, focusing on the vision of a group of producers and directors on two aspects: transmedia strategy and fan phenomenon. We resorted to the in-depth interview technique, with which we gathered from the assessment of a group of professionals involved in the inception of Skam España and in most of the most successful teen series in recent years, and identified certain trends: the increase in supply, brought about by VoD platforms, has allowed segmenting the target and betting on scripts aimed at teenagers; transmedia narratives have generated stories spread across multiple channels, encouraging the interaction of fandom.
