Realismo y humor en el cine actual
Abstract
In contrast with postmodernism, prevailing throughout the eighties and the first half of the nineties, a distinct tendency is emerging in film making since the middle of the past decade. Relevant features of this tendency are realism and use of humour, both features being used creatively by filmmakers, in accordance with the specific film purposes. In this context, this paper is aimed at facilitating both the analysis of the corresponding films and the study of the future evolution of this tendency. To this purpose, the following elements are provided: an analysis of the meaning of "realism" in the 20th century context; an analysis of humour as an expressive resource with a "distanciation" function; and, the application of these concepts to the study of two relevant films within the aforementioned tendency.Downloads
