Abstract

This research is based on the discussion displayed on YouTube, due to the inclusion of characters and scenes of LGBT collective in the last adaptation of Beauty and the Beast (2017) film by Bill Condon. The event is based on an extensive study of heteronormative representations and the breakdown of the feminine theme in Disney, giving rise to an exploratory analysis. According to the literary review, we apply a qualitative methodology through content analysis focused on social movement at Internet with the objective of deepening the discourse on sexual diversity. We selected five videos oriented to this topic, delimiting a sample of two hundred and fifty comments that facilitate the interpretation of the message-speech by users in terms of affection and child cultural consumption. The study concludes a prevalence of LGBT partisanship, and an insulting, discriminatory and dogmatic debate by its detractors.
