Abstract

Every “world” creates stories and myths about its origin and design. But communication faculties and film schools should go beyond those legends and arcana in describing and interpreting “film making” and “knowing about doing” away from the allusions to “the mysteries of creation” or “the routines of the making”. Starting from the field of Project Management and Administration of Organizations, we propose the centrality of the concept and framework of “production” as an escape route from the (apparently) irresolvable contradiction between the aesthetic and the economic, between the standardization of processes and the uniqueness of the products. Only then does the concept of “project” take on the meaning it should have in film praxis.
