Jason Bourne: Hero or Monster? The Existential Journey of a Contemporary Hero
Abstract
This article is an analysis about the construction of the protagonist of the movie “The Bourne Identity”, first of a blockbuster trilogy, is a story based on the Robert Ludlum novel. Despite on certain occasion the mainstream culture has been described disparagingly as a culture product designed just for the entertainment, our hypothesis is based on certain texts are presenting from the author construction consciously or unconsciously, as a mirror of deeper concerns related to certain existential reflections of individuals in a given society. This approach transcends all aspects related to the entertainment cinema and mass acceptance by the public, in order to deepen the global assimilation of particular thought, a way of understanding the world. Finding the keys that define the contemporary story hero, which is identified with the viewer and that it forms our daily reality, is a way to explore, meditate and reflect on the present man.Downloads
