Smartphone in secondary education: Six questions for its inclusion from the Positive Adolescent Development approach
Abstract
The current state of research shows how secondary education centres usually prohibit or limit the use of mobile phones. Given the commonly known risk behaviours in the virtual world, it is necessary to investigate new pedagogical models for the inclusion of the device in achieving Digital and curricular Competencies.
The purpose of the article is to raise possibilities and limitations for the inclusion of the mobile phone in schools, considering the Positive Youth Development approach. It has been developed through a review of the literature and findings from previous research are considered.
The inclusion of the device from the PYD approach would imply generating new educational actions at the centre to achieve competencies, considering the potential, empowerment and participation of the students for the benefit of their relationships, their well-being, the construction of their identity and their autonomy. progressive.
The article specifies “6 Questions for the inclusion of the Mobile Phone in secondary education centres from the Positive Youth Development Approach”, aiming to open new paths in the establishment of innovative techno-pedagogical models that make it possible to include technology in the educational system for the benefit of the comprehensive development of students.
