Abstract

The paper presents the rational, development and history of one of the most unique and large scale studies carried out to study the well-being of children. The study presented in the paper is based on the understanding that children are active human-beings in their own right and during childhood and that childhood is also a stage of itself. Further, it is based on the understanding that well-being is also a subjective phenomenon and thus should be studied based on the researched population reports.
