Youth Bodies, Gender and Public Spaces in Barcelona
Abstract
In this paper, we propose a reflection on the place of the female body in the city through the case of young adopted women in Barcelona. Without claiming that they have a different way to inhabit Barcelona urban spaces than other people of their same age, we consider that their experience shed light on phenomena that affect more generally all women. The text also proposes some historical reflections on the impact of the public/private dichotomy in the process of constitution of our contemporary cities and on the place left to the children in the city.Downloads
