Abstract

Teletext was born in England, in 1973, for the Deaf People. The were two different decoders since 1976 to 1990: U.K. level 1 and ANTIOPE. level 2. The Spanish ingenieer, Antonio Tortosa, dead, published the Spanish norm of TXT level 1,5 in 1986; with 128 characters in order to respect the four languages: Spanish, Catalan, Galician and Basque. 259 Antonio López de Zuazo Algar Teletexto y el pensamiento divergente Nowadays there are four national teletexts (TVE, Telecinco, Antena 3, Canal Plus), some regionals (Catalonia, Anadalusia, Basque Country, Galicia, Valencia), and few local ones (Bilbao, Alicante, Seville, Madrid...) Spaniards buy a million television TXT sets a year. Spanish readers read Teletext only for 10 minutes a day, I mean 30 pages. All of them choose their favourite ones: most of them read with a convergent mind (news, sports, TV programmes); a few of them read with a divergent mind special pages (chess, Stock Exchanges, puzzles-cross words, horoscopes, etc)
