Aulas multiculturales. La enseñanza del catalán a inmigrantes adolescentes
Abstract
This work is a study of an observation of TAEs, School Adaptation Workshops and basic instrumental learning programs created in compulsory secondary schools to accommodate the newly arrived students coming from non-romance language countries who have to learn Catalan before they can join the regular compulsory classes at school. The observation took place in five TAE rooms in Badalona. A series of interviews were carried out to see if the way teachers deal with this work coincides with what we have found described in the literature for CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning) teachers, because in these classes not only Catalan but also Mathematics, Social and Natural Sciences Tutorial sessions are taught. This study also examined the beliefs of these teachers with respect to their students and the instruction they receive.Downloads
