Abstract

According to PISA report, Reading Ability is: “Ability to understand, to use and to analyze written texts to aim reader’s goals and to develop reader´s knowledge and possibilities to participate in society”, a society that is changing. Because of that, in this paper I propose a different reading of one of the most important writers of Spanish Literature: Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer. This way, we will use the text “La cueva de la mora” to work with values as transculturality or genders equality to educate students to become critic readers and citizens who are conscious of the society they live in and of their historical and literary background So we will put together two of the greats values of Literature, as a tool to educate critic people and as the knowledge of universal works as literary and linguistic models and as a part of the cultural heritage of the countries.
