“I’m bad at languages!” Psychological aspects that may have some influence in foreing languages acquisition
Abstract
The Communicative Approach is a language teaching method that involves social interaction as a way of learning. However, this approach has not always considered the learners’ individual psychological differences when organizing and designing activities. Actually, it has been taken for granted that students had to adapt to this way of teaching. This article tries to analyse some problems that can arise among people with low self-esteem, high levels of anxiety, introversion and unwillingness to take risks, when learning through social interaction is preferred to any other classroom activity.Downloads
