Discursive analysis of the lexical constellation on surrogacy in the Spanish media: ideological positionings in confrontation
Abstract
This research aims to verify how the discourse on surrogacy is constructed in the Spanish media by analysing the main terms used in a corpus of 50 digital journalistic texts. The results obtained are compared with the review of the lexicographical codification of these words in general and legal dictionaries and with the use proposed by three associations and media in favour of surrogacy. All the linguistic forms described have been criticised from different ideological positions, as this is a subject that is currently the subject of legal and social debate: the commodification of women's bodies versus the right to reproduction.
