Lo que yo te diga: discursive functions and grammaticalization process
Abstract
The relative clause nominalized semi-free lo que yo te diga has adopted in the current Spanish a modal value of reaffirmation, so that it has come to behave syntactically as a discursive operator. The aim of this article is to identify its discursive functions, to analyze its grammaticalization process, and to enumerate the differences between this operator and other metalinguistic constructions like lo que yo te digo, te lo digo yo, como yo te diga, como te lo digo y como digo yo.Downloads
