Abstract

Art History's interest in incorporating theoretical frameworks from the Social Sciences had an unstable path within the Universidad de Buenos Aires, which managed to consolidate towards the 1990s from a professional perspective. Political contexts that created particular conditions for the development of higher education in Argentina were associated with the interests of certain figures in the formulation of their profiles as specialists, as well as with the articulation of their knowledge with areas such as teaching and research. This article observes different moments of Art History as a university discipline and recovers institutional episodes and editorial projects to understand the slow course towards interdisciplinary approach.
