Abstract

The recontextualized objects in thefield of art that atflrst can only act referring lo itself also do as such referring to other things that have to do with its nature and previous lWe. They contain a potential signíficance, open aná dynamic, that swings belween that which they are and which the spectator projects in them from his 0W>? particular experience. Between the eyewitness authority aná self-representation that the objects own independently and isolated, os occurs in Duchamp s ready-mades, and the significant versality that demonstrates combinations of irrational and fortuitous form, as occurs with the surrealists, or the neutralization that, in many aspects, suffers the accumulation amifragmentation, as we see in Rauschenberg s assemblages. produce a wide rang of variable signiflcants.
