Funcionamiento semiótico de las representaciones figurativas.

Abstract

While Peirce admits the presente activelyreferential of the absolute object aso semiotics limit, Eco (l988)proposes to eradicate the problem of the referent, whose incursion in the theoty of codes degenerates into the «extensivefallacy». Due to the undeniable calI of the figure on its significance, the author proposes that the artistic sign<ficance would be unable to resolve itselfifone keeps apart the horizon of ¡he sense, as this one does not only jusufie ¡he fi¿nctioning of ¡he sign<ficantform, but also establishes its nature. The original link of ¡he mental representational significance with regard ¡o its signification does no¡ ¡ransform it in a rigid and inappmpiate instrumentfor ¡he combina ¡ory play of thought on the contrary. Us insistent invocation ¡o ¡he sense strengthens in thefigure --an ¡he icon-- as an enclave of the transgressions to the mechanims of the cultural languages in which it enters unfailingly
