Abstract

The book by historian and essayist Isabel Segura Soriano is understood as a journey through the reconstruction of the memory of a city. Barcelona as core and subject for a wide selection of photographers who, as the author comments, explored new ways of telling the city from its transit and daily use.

Author Biography

Jennifer Novoa Domínguez, Universidade de Santiago de Compostela

Historiadora del Arte (USC) y Técnica Superior en Artes Plásticas y Diseño en Fotografía (EASD Antonio Faílde). Posee un máster en Gestión del Patrimonio Artístico y Arquitectónico, Museos y Mercado del Arte (USC). Actualmente es investigadora predoctoral en el departamento de Historia del Arte de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela y pertenece al Grupo de Estudios Audiovisuales (GI-1786) de dicha universidad. Su tesis se centra en el estudio de la fotografía de la segunda mitad del siglo XX en Galicia. Además, está interesada en el estudio de la teoría y estética de la imagen, el arte contemporáneo y los estudios culturales.
