Pablo Zelaya Sierra's pedagogical aesthetic Project (1896-1933)
Abstract
The article explains the genesis and subsequent development of the pedagogical aesthetic project of the Honduran painter Pablo Zelaya Sierra. In the formation of this project, the ideas that emerge from his position as an avant-garde artist and his aspirations as an intellectual committed to the construction of a modern, democratic and independent society intersect. Likewise, the article examines his ideology and program to reveal the main purpose of the Honduran artist, which was directed towards the transformation of the nation through the cultivation of aesthetic sensitivity The article reveals a series of elements that until now remain unknown in the historiography of art in Honduras and that allow a more faithful update of Pablo Zelaya Sierra's creative process during his stay at the Special School of Painting in Madrid.and the promotion of an artistic culture that was at the service of development, and the strengthening of national identity.
