Analysis of public space from universal design; the case of Santa Marta, Colombia
Abstract
The planning of more inclusive cities in all aspects has gained a relevant importance in the public policy and the agenda of the academy. From the continuous efforts made from different disciplines in favor of inclusion, it is proposed to analyze the design of public spaces in the historic center of Santa Marta around accessibility, generating recommendations from universal design and communication to work for a more inclusive city with characteristics of integral development. A review of key theoretical concepts of the research will be developed and the methodological process of the mixed project will be exposed with the results found in the application of the instrument up to now.
