Everyday life in the stories of Mendoza Hernández: aesthetic experience and irony
Abstract
This work seeks, from reading two stories by the writer Primo Mendoza Hernández collected in his book Territories (2009), to reflect on the aesthetic experience and irony as elements that transcend the fictional text and the direct relationship with extratextual reality. In this case, the neighborhood where Mendoza Hernández found and where his stories sit is Tepito, an area in the center of Mexico City that is clearly configured as an example when looking for the description of a conflictive space, with features clearly Identity Irony and aesthetic experience are reconfigured in fictions as elements that break the customary order of a consolidated place in their traditions, which makes their interpretation and interpretative recomposition possible.
