New modes, media and formats for the edition of Architecture. The SOBRElab experience
Abstract
The reformulation of the cultural media, caused in recent decades by new technologies, is leading cultural producers, including those related to Art and Architecture, to propose new strategies for editing and publishing their proposals. Based on new media, publishing systems have become more autonomous. Contact with the cultural production has been socialized and some formats have been recovered, generating some alternatives that invite to participate and to interchange languages. This article proposes to show the experience developed in the School of Architecture and the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Granada (Spain) by the working group SOBRElab. A project focused on critical reflection on the new ways of disseminating culture. Current independent Spanish publishing panorama is proposed as a research framework. This paper presents a theoretical reflection that frames the field of work. We have chosen a selection of editorial agents focused on Architecture in order to analyze the situation of their activity. This approach seeks ways to increase the impact of production, research and dissemination of these alternative cultural agents.
