Abstract

Roads of Kiarostami (Abbas Kiarostami, 2005) is an audiovisual essay in which the author conflates digital vídeo-image, photography, prose, poetry, orality, writing and music. Yet, until now only the relationship between static image and moving image had merited attention. With the perspective of intermediality studies and analysing also the roll of oral text and music, this paper aims to go deeply into the work’s character of a laboratory where Kiarostami researches the way of weaving very different arts, genres and media. By this time, Kiarostami had already diversified his work in different media and institutions: cinema, art system and literature. The author’s recognition in each institution is condition of posibility for a movie that refers to those experiences and incorporates them while playing to keep generic and medial differences, and to brake at the same time its limits.
