Abstract

This article relates the development of a series of Training Days that include the workshops with Cyanotype carried out for Technicians of the Spanish Confederation of Associations of Relatives of People with Alzheimer and other Dementias (CEAFA). In these workshops the Cyanotype was presented. It is about offering training in artistic techniques to these professionals, in order to use the creation of images as a dynamizing agent in the activities they perform with the patients. The Cyanotype is a simple photographic technique that had its maximum diffusion in the 19th Century. This process for its special features fits perfectly in the needs of people regardless of its age or special situation. This is what makes this technique suitable for carrying out artistic activities with people living with this disease at an early or moderate stage. Once the workshops were over and the participants assimilated the concepts, the photographic technique and the possibilities offered by it, professionals were able to apply the knowledge acquired in practical settings. By its application, they have been able to improve the psychosocial conditions, optimize the communication and generate habits of personal improvement in patients with early dementia.
