Abstract

The art work has the ability to call to the conscience of the time, what it has been excluded, operate like dreams, myths or symptoms. The archetypal interpretation look beyond the causal relationships between time and art, finding another relationship of complementary and compensation, which may lead us to a more symbolic, spiritual and deeper meaning way in the analysis of the artwork. Previously we reviewed the references of postmodernism in which arises, and we asked about the death of art in our world today. Finally we respond to this question by opening two possibilities, opposite, and both possible dissenting. In one of them we bet on the death of art, justified from the tenets of archetypal psychology. In the other opted for the presence of an underlying message in the postmodern art, which therefore remains alive and ready to complement the current collective consciousness and our psyche.
