Mediating factors of childhood stress in emergency housing situations
Abstract
The process of foreclosure is configured in the crisis as a stressful life event within the family circle that influences childhood. This study explores the mediating variables in the reaction to stress and their dynamics. For which qualitative work is performed, playful techniques are used with a group of 6 children, and 5 interviews with children, and 4 interviews with parental figures and psychologists. The results show that the variables that act at the family level are: stability dynamics, parental styles, coping skills and resource management; at the personal level: the perception between resources and environmental pressures and coping strategies; at the social level: the conditions of socio-economic and cultural status; in the school environment: experiences of success and failure, and relationships with peers.
