It is also necessary to remove the author’s identification in the file properties (see instructions).
  • RITIE accepts articles of between 7,500 and 10,000 words, including title, abstracts, keywords and bibliography. An abstract of between 150 and 250 words and five descriptors must be included. Orthotypographic issues

RITIE considers it valuable to take care of some aspects that often appear in the writing of research, so that all the articles published by the journal follow common criteria. The most common issues to be considered are the following:

  • Bold, italics, capital letters or underlining should not be used in the text to highlight and/or emphasize any idea.
  • Terms in languages other than the language of the article should be in italics. Titles of books and periodicals, as well as terms in other languages, should also be written in italics. Entire quotations in other languages (in inverted commas) and the names of foreign institutions should not be italicized.
  • English inverted commas “ ” should be used, and, within the latter, single quotation marks (‘ ’).
  • Specialized terms, unusual terms or terms that are to be studied in depth in the course of an argument should be enclosed in quotation marks.
  • Capital letters are accented and only apply to proper names of persons, places or institutions.
  • Whole numbers (except dates, year, currency, etc.) are always written in words and are only presented in numerals when they exceed four digits.
  • Footnotes and endnotes should be avoided.

Article evaluation process

  • Once an article is received, the Editorial Team will make an initial review of the manuscripts, making sure that the subject matter is in accordance with the objectives and editorial policy of the journal, meets the requirements indicated at the beginning and passes the anti-plagiarism filter without a high rate of coincidences with other documents.
  • The work is then sent to two evaluators specialising in the subject, who are asked to give their academic opinion on the quality of the text, also taking into account the criteria provided by RITIE.
  • The following evaluation criteria will be used:
    • The work’s originality and contribution to the advancement of knowledge.
    • Rigour in the use of argumentation, methodology and sources
    • Relevance of the article for the national and international academic community.
    • Relevance of the article for the world of education.
    • Interest and fruitfulness of the conclusions.
    • Currency and relevance of the bibliography, with references to national and international contexts.

  • The results of the evaluation can be:
  • Accepted without modification.
  • Accepted with minor modifications. In the case of such an evaluation, the reviewers’ reports will be sent to the authors so that they can include the indicated modifications and proceed to publication.
  • Accepted with substantial modifications. In the case of this type of evaluation, the reviewers’ reports will be sent to the authors so that they can follow the guidelines given, after which a new evaluation will be carried out.

o Rejected for publication in RITIE. In the event that an article is rejected for publication, the author will be provided with the reasons for the decision.

  • Once the paper has been typeset, the proofs will be sent to the authors so that they can correct any possible errors. The corresponding author will receive the typeset proofs in the journal’s PDF format. They will have 10 days to correct them. Authors are obliged to check the proofs. Articles will only be published when the proofs have been checked and no spelling or grammatical errors or errors in the bibliographical references have been detected. Alteration of content in the proofreading process will not be accepted.

Book reviews

RITIE accepts the publication of reviews devoted to the critical analysis of current books within the scope of the journal, preferably published in the current year or, at most, in the two preceding years. They will have a maximum length of 2,500 words. The reviews must justify the importance of the book for thinking about the educational phenomenon. The reviews will be evaluated by the Editorial Board
