Abstract
in recent years in catalonia, there has benn a proliferation of a series of proffesionals who carry out, more or less in accordance with the theorical definition, the function of intercultural mediators. at firs, they were gypsies. however, recently,as a rsult of the increase in the presence of immigrant origin children in catalan schools, the number and the role of foreigners has increased as a result of the recognition they have received form tha administration and the institutions.being a new prctice, it is still of unanswered questions. however, on seen that there was no parallel reflection and clarification of its bases, it seemed to be the right moment to examine its development, the empirical research work with a survey of teachers in primary and complusory secondary education who have provided us with their perception.Downloads
