Resumen
El análisis iconográfico de La Anunciación Mérode ha ignorado tradicionalmente cómo la mente medieval forjó cadenas de mensajes de memoria para expandir la meditación. Incluso el enfoque reciente en temas devocionales ha fallado en gran medida en adaptarse al proceso mental de la meditación en sí. La mente que medita prefiere moverse suavemente entre las indicaciones para poder aprovechar al máximo el recuerdo, un proceso mental obstaculizado por el análisis discursivo.
