Abstract

Intonation is a crucial element of pronunciation. Limitations in interpreting and producing intonation hinder oral communication. Intonation has been traditionally neglected in teaching materjals, teaching methodology and daily practice in the foreign language classroom. Being that it is not possible to achieve communicative competence without a sufficient command of intonation, we understand, it is essential to include it in the foreign language curriculum. In the final epigraphs, we include some practical suggestions and activities to teach this suprasegmental phenomenon.
