The norm of the Spanish language through the Diccionario panhispánico de dudas: analysis of the novelties in the second edition (2023)
Abstract
The main aim of this study is to analyse the normative discourse of the Spanish Academy as expressed in the Diccionario panhispánico de dudas, as it is the work that contains the most up-to-date considerations on the on the Spanish standard, as it has recently renewed part of its contents (March 2023). The objective is also to check whether this discourse has changed by analysing some of the new features included in the second version of the dictionary and to investigate the criteria that support the decisions taken regarding the correctness or incorrectness of certain variants of the same linguistic phenomenon.
